My male Dobie is getting old now. The one before him died suddenly from cancer. It took me a year to replace her with him. I have a female also, much younger than him. I don't want to take that long to replace this male after he is gone. I know that I want a teenage black and tan European male Dobie. I want to find a breeder that I am comfortable with in advance so when I get to that point I can work with them to find what I am looking for.
